McDonald's Night

On Wednesday March 2nd, 2005 Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers was involved in its first McDonald’s charity night from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Our members were at the McDonald’s stores on St. Clair and Richmond streets in Chatham and also at the McDonald’s in Wallaceburg. Student volunteers assisted our regular members and we all had a great time.
We wish to thank McDonald’s for this great opportunity to increase our profile and earn money to help run our program. We also want to thank our long time supporters; CKSY/CFCO/CKUE radio stations. Their promotion of this event helped make it one of the most successful charity nights at the local McDonald’s.

Anti-Vandalism in Parks

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers is proud to acknowledge a large donation from the Independent Insurance Brokers of Chatham-Kent.

This money was used to purchase anti vandalism signs. These signs will be placed in all parks that have baseball diamonds. The signs will be placed on the backstops. In total we have purchased 73 signs. It is hoped that these signs will reduce vandalism at the ball diamonds.

This project is a partnership between Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers, the Independent Insurance Brokers of Chatham-Kent and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. Crime Stoppers supplies the anti vandalism message and the number to call to anonymously report vandalism. The Independent Insurance Brokers supplied the funds to purchase the signs and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is installing the signs at no charge.

It is because of strong community support from organizations such as this that we are one of the best Crime Stoppers Programs in the world.

Pictured are Roberta Giffin of the Independent Insurance Brokers, Csts. Tom Harris O.P.P. and Dave Bakker C.K.P.S., Police Coordinators for Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers, and Paul McCart of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
